Welcome! We're so glad you found us.
My name is Melissa, founder and creator here at Prairie Minimalist. We are a small family run business, located in rural SK, Canada. We love to keep life simple, minimal and as back to basics as we can.

How It All Started

Prairie Minimalist was born out of my love for creating and my growing interest in a simpler, more natural lifestyle. It was startling to find out just how much waste was really being produced in our world of disposables and convenience. I pulled out my sewing machine and started out making reusable items for our home.

All this sewing lead me to open up a shop on Etsy. Being a long time do-it-yourself sort, I stumbled upon beeswax wraps and had to try out my hand in making them myself. I was sold and after much experimenting to get the perfect recipe, I added them to my shop. Things really took off from there.

When I started this journey, I had no idea what it would grow into. I started by myself in a little corner of my home and have grown into a workshop on our acreage that is now Prairie Minimalist. It has been an exciting journey with much learning and I am so grateful for the lovely customers that have made this shop what it is today.
